By using CheckMyHandbook ("the Service"), you agree to the following terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

What CheckMyHandbook is

CheckMyHandbook is an AI-powered research tool that compares employee handbook policies against published NLRB standards and case law. It is designed to help workers identify policies that may warrant further review.

Not legal advice

CheckMyHandbook is a research tool only and does not constitute legal advice.

No attorney-client relationship is created by using this service. Results may contain gaps, errors, or outdated information. We make no warranty, express or implied, as to the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of any content accessible through this service.

If you need legal guidance regarding your workplace rights, consult a qualified labor attorney or contact your local NLRB regional office.

Acceptable use

You may use CheckMyHandbook to analyze employee handbooks that you have lawful access to. You agree not to:

  • Upload documents you do not have the right to share
  • Use the service for any unlawful purpose
  • Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the service
  • Use automated tools to access the service at scale without permission

Uploaded content

When you upload a handbook PDF, we store it temporarily to perform the analysis and allow you to return to your results. Your uploaded PDF is automatically and permanently deleted after 30 days. Analysis results are retained longer.

To perform the analysis, we send your handbook content to Anthropic's Claude API for AI processing. By uploading a handbook, you acknowledge that its content will be transmitted to this third-party service. See our Privacy Policy for more details.

No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results will be accurate or complete. AI-generated analysis may miss issues, produce false positives, or reflect outdated legal standards.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CheckMyHandbook, Citizen Computing, Lupine Legacy Foundation, and their officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from your access to or use of the Service.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
