Privacy Policy

CheckMyHandbook is operated by Citizen Computing, a program of Lupine Legacy Foundation. We built this tool for workers, and your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how we handle it.
No accounts, no sign-up
CheckMyHandbook does not require an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal information to use the service.
What we collect
Uploaded handbooks
When you upload a PDF, we store it temporarily so we can analyze it and allow you to return to your results. Uploaded PDFs are automatically and permanently deleted after 30 days. Your analysis results (the report) are retained longer so you can access them via your bookmark link.
Cookies and sessions
We use a session cookie to remember your previously analyzed handbooks during your browser session. This cookie does not contain personal information and is not used for advertising or tracking across other sites.
Analytics
We use PostHog to collect anonymous usage analytics—for example, how many analyses are run and which features are used. We assign a random visitor ID (not linked to your identity) for this purpose. We do not track you across other websites, and we do not build advertising profiles.
Third-party processing
To analyze your handbook, we send its text content (or the PDF itself) to Anthropic's Claude API. Anthropic processes this data to generate the analysis and does not use it to train their models. See Anthropic's privacy policy for details.
What we don't collect
- No personal information (name, email, phone) is required or collected
- No advertising trackers, no ad networks
- No cross-site tracking
- No selling or sharing of data with third parties for marketing purposes

Your rights
